According to prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and under the general supervision of the Executive Director/Administrator is accountable for the overall performance of business units as assigned: managing, directing, evaluating, and ensuring the quality and delivery of all services provided in the business unit, overall financial performance and budget, all proper documentation related to facility, residents, staff.


  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates program staff.
  • Effectively communicates information to departments, residents, families, staff and other National Church Residences business units. Meets with resident (s) and families regarding questions and concerns.
  • Responsible for assessing residents for appropriate life enrichment activities for group, independent and one-to-one.
  • Scheduling and developing life enrichment activities to appropriate levels to suit the expectations and needs of the residents.
  • Responsible for managing department budget.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels.
  • Manages the recruiting, interviewing, counseling, supervising and termination procedures of all employees and volunteers. Ensures Human Resource matters are handled in a manner consistent with the Employee Information Guide, consulting with HR as appropriate.
  • Lead activities.
  • Participates in on-call, weekend manager programs as required.


Non-Essential Job Functions

  • Attends and leads meetings to coordinate plans, follow up on implementation, problem solve, and education and develop staff.
  • Assists staff on the floor as needed.
  • Attends community meetings, QI, educational in-services as required.
  • Investigate all incidents in unit. Oversees appropriate, accurate and timely payroll submissions, HR, AP, AR, and billing procedures.



  • Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach and participates in appropriate problem solving methods.
  • With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for clients, reports all complaints made by clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/client property and/or any other corporate compliance items immediately.
  • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide as well as any facility handbooks including but not limited to corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Education:          Minimum Associates Degree in relevant field.


Experience:        One to two years preferred. Experience in a long term care facility required.


Mental:                Must have good communication, comprehension, computer and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English.


Skills:                    Must have working knowledge of Window, Microsoft Office Suite, and Internet.


Licensure:           Activities Certification as required by state compliance.
