The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and a leader comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding environment.  Strong critical thinking skills, strong communication skills, and the acumen to move projects forward are a requirement for success.  The preferred candidate will have experience in the Real Estate Development industry with specialized experience in affordable housing and LIHTCs.


The Construction Accounting Manager will provide leadership over all areas of accounting and reporting within the Acquisitions and Development department of National Church Residences.  Specific responsibilities are as follows:

  • Perform month-end construction accounting responsibilities for assigned portfolio of projects actively under construction.
  • Prepare and submit draw packages to lenders and finance agencies to secure all financing for assigned portfolio.
  • Ensure the timely payment of all contractors and vendors within assigned portfolio.
  • Prepare and report out on project forecasts for assigned portfolio.
  • Prepare and submit 10% carryover allocations and cost certifications in accordance with state finance agency requirements.
  • Prepare GAAP cost certification conversions for assigned portfolio.
  • Provide dotted line leadership to Construction Accounting and Development Analyst staff for all draw, equity call, and reporting activities.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of managerial experience preferred
