    According to the prescribed policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the Village Shoppe Manager, the Village Shoppe Clerk provides excellent customer service and maintains high quality food services and merchandise in the Village Store.

     

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Provides excellent customer service to residents, employees, and guests of the Village.
    • Coordinates purchasing based on the needs of the customers at the Village Shoppe. Solicits customer feedback and acts appropriately on the suggestions.
    • Ensures the shop is customer ready at all times. This includes cleaning, restocking, and rotating items as needed.
    • Adheres to safety and sanitary regulations as applies to all food services.
    • Accurately utilizes the point of sale system for all transactions. Adheres to cash handling guidelines and maintains accurate cash transactions.
    • Assists with utilizing various Village communications to make customers or potential new customers aware of events at the Village Shoppe. 

     

    NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Assist with maintaining a current listing of authorized charge account customers.
    • Coordinates with the facilities to maintain efficient condition of Shoppe and equipment.
    • May assist manager with the completing of sales reports, weekly purchase order processing, semi-annual inventory reports, bi-weekly associate charge reports, monthly resident charge reports, monthly variance reports, and other assigned paperwork on a timely basis.

     

    EXPECTATIONS

    • Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, promotes a team approach, participates in appropriate problem solving methods.
    • With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for clients, reports all complaints made by clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/client property and/or any other corporate compliance items immediately.
    • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG) as well as any facility handbook including but not limited to corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education: Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience: Retail or purchasing experience preferred.

    Mental: Must have good verbal and written communication, comprehension, computer and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English.

    Skills: Must have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and World Wide Web.

    Licensure: NA

    Vision: Normal: Consistent with standard workflow.
