    Responsibilities

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manages census, billing and accounts receivable functions for assigned facilities and payors.
    • Process information submitted for entry including, but not limited to, cash receipts, census information, trust funds and daily/monthly charges.

     

    • Maintains facility specific cashbooks.

     

    • Prepares, reviews and submits billing to Medicare, Medicaid, private duty and commercial payors as assigned. Verifies claim acceptance, resubmits as necessary, appeals, confirms reimbursement and prepares adjustments.

     

    • Prepares month end closing documents and submits in compliance with departmental schedule.

     

    • Prepares accounts receivable refunds in a timely manner in accordance with regulations.

     

    • Sends regular updates to Accounting Manager with progress/concerns.

     

    NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Collects and prepares documents for audit and cost reports.
    • Performs duties of Business Office Manager as it relates to accounts receivable functions as needed.
    • Working with site to correct information as necessary.

     

    EXPECTATIONS

    • Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach.  Collaborates and participates in policy creation/review and appropriate problem solving methods.

     

    • With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for patients/clients, reports all complaints made by clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/client property and/or any other corporate compliance items immediately.

     

    • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences Employee Information Guide (EIG) as well as any department policies including but not limited to corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.

     

    • Performs collections best practices in accordance with the collections policies and procedures including but not limited to accounts receivable reviews, collection action plans, collection calls, letters, etc.

    • Verifies accuracy of census information (admissions, discharges, transfers) entered into the clinical and financial computer systems

     

    Qualifications

    Education:       High School Diploma or GED. Prefer associate degree in Accounting.

     

    Experience:     Two years experience in an Accounts Receivable Coordinator

                            preferably in a long term care setting.

     

    Mental:            Must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal

                           skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand

                           English.

     

    Skills:             Must have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and

                           World Wide Web.
